Leisure in Sheffield.
Sports in Sheffield are covered in another section but there are many other things to do. The city has a number of interesting museums including Kelham Island Museum which looks back at Sheffields history as a Steel producing city. Bishops House and the Fire Museum are also very intersting.
The arts take quite a high priority in Sheffield, there are two main theatres a number of cinemas and an even larger number of art galaries. The two theatres - The Crucible and The Lyceum both have regular performances as do their smaller counterparts. The main art galaries are the Mappin Galery and the Ruskin Gallery, both are quite well known.
The real crowd pullers in the city are often the concerts, having two high profile venues - the City Hall and the Sheffield Arena has led to loads of top stars to come to the city including Brian Adams and Tina Turner, Michael Jackson will be here later this year.
Another favourite attraction to visitors of Sheffield is Meadowhall (dubbed Meadowhell by some locals). This is one of the largest shopping centres in Europe which is constantly packed. It has a cinema and hundreds of shops and food bars.
Other than this Sheffield has what you'd expect every other major city to have, a ten pin bowling centre, great restaurants, big dance clubs and good pubs.
